A blade replacement by hand would interrupt or even delay production. To prevent from this, MuK offers to install an automatic blade change device as an option. For this purpose, the numeric control of the cutting machine is equipped with a small database containing information about the magazine's occupancy, the blade type and the lifetime of each blade. If a blade breaks or if its lifetime has expired, the MuK cutting machine will replace it automatically. The interruption eventually resulting from a manual intervention can be saved.

Moreover, different blade types can be inserted into the magazine. With an accordingly designed NC program, the MuK cutting machine selects the right blade type for the cutting task to be performed (e.g. for the so-called sack cuts) and integrates it into the cutting head automatically.
