STORAGE AND DISTRIBUTION SYSTEMS

Customized storage and distribution systems.
In particular aircraft construction needs workshop facilities which are adapted to the special characteristics of CFRP materials and the dimensions of the workpieces. MuK designed and manufactured several storage and distribution systems for CFRP components. For instance, these material flow components consist of a 90 m long high-rack for special workpiece carriers / pallets. They are transported by a special storage and retrieval vehicle / shelf operating device / with two movable lifting platforms. Each platform is equipped with a fork that can be extended to the left and to the right.

Other customized material flow solutions consist of an automatic storage device. Workpiece carriers / pallets / (3.5 x 1.2 m) are automatically replaced in a machining centre to allow the machine to run without interruption. At two set up stations the worker can manually take the machined parts off the pallets or place new parts to be machined on the pallets. The storage device works automatically, according to the data of the needed workpieces which the machining centre sends to control of the storage.
The particular benefit: the vacuum supply for the workpieces is maintained without any interruption, even if the workpiece carrier is lying on the storage and retrieval vehicle /shelf operating device / because it must stay there for a while due to extensive machining.
